Mixed, Quiet Opening for Equities

The equity markets opened flat to better with an initial wave of buying, but technology is not following, which is a moderately negative sign.

Flat Open

The mid-morning RSI readings from the CQG Custom QuoteBoard, using 15-minute bars for the equity derivative products are neutral for the E-mini S&P (EPZ6), the DJ Euro STOXX 50 (DSXZ6), and the Dow (DJI). But, the RSI reading for the NASDAQ 100 (ENQZ6) is indicating weakness.

The Q.NYSEVolRatio is indicating moderate buying in NYSE stocks. The flat reading (near 50% up-volume) for the Q.NASDAQVolRatio is a neutral sign.

Flat Technology

The ETZ6, ICE WTI Light Sweet Crude Oil for December, is showing a short-term up trend and the RSI is moderately bullish..

The RSI for Gold (GCZ6) is moderately positive and MACD action is indicating a short-term up trend.

Yields are up in the Treasury market today.

The EUR/USD pair is flat.

NYSE Volume Ratio Moderately Bullish

The chart of the S&P 500 and the NYSE volume ratio on a 15-minute basis is a reading of around 60% up-volume, which is moderately bullish.

Flat NASDAQ Volume Ratio

However, the NASDAQ 100 and the NASDAQ volume ratio readings on a 15-minute basis are just neutral with a 47% up-volume reading.
