Stocks started out on a weak note.

 

In the quote window, each of the symbols details the last price and change for the day. The two studies, the relative strength index (RSI) and the moving average convergence/divergence (MACD) and its 9-period average (MACDA or Signal Line) are based 15-minute bars.

 

Equities lower

The morning RSI readings for the top row, which are equity derivative products, are moderately negative. The E-mini S&P (EPZ6), the Dow (DJI) and the DJ Euro STOXX 50 (DSXZ6) are flashing moderately weak readings RSI readings, but the RSI for the NASDAQ 100 (ENQZ6) is signaling flat momentum.

 

The e-mini S&P 500 is trending lower, but the MACD is about to cross its average.

The Q.NYSEVolRatio is indicating selling as the volume ratio is only 40% up-volume, and the Q.NASDAQVolRatio is not quite as negative with a 43% up-volume reading.

 

Improving Volume Ratio

The S&P 500 is compared to the NYSE Volume ratio. The right hand scale is the percentage of up-volume. A reading of 40 indicated up-volume is only 40% of the trading. When this image was captured, the NYSE Volume ratio was climbing, indicating buyers coming in.

 

Next, in the second row is ETZ6, ICE WTI Light Sweet Crude Oil for December, which is trading sideways.   The RSI for Gold (GCZ6) is indicating buying pressure.Yields are rising in the Treasury market today. The T-notes futures are pulling back.The EUR/USD pair is flat.
